Beading Rut!!!!

You may or may not have noticed.... that lately I have not posted anything about my beadwork. Well, the reason is.... I'm in a total rut!!!!!!! I have all these projects that I started, but can't seem to spend more than a few minutes at a time on each... and they are advancing at a snail pace... I don't know why I'm feeling so uninspired, and therefore decided to do a search on Etsy to see what my fellow beadweavers are doing in an effort to break this horrible dead-end feeling that I have looming over my beading table.... where are you beading angel???? Yes I actually believe I have a beading angel that watches over my shoulders while I'm beading, inspiring and guiding me!!! Ok, so you may think I'm totally nuts but, I do really believe it!!! and yes, some of you may think I'm certifiable... and you may be right!!! I know some of my dearest friends may agree with you :-) so here are some of the EtsyBeadweavers that I've been looking at whilst looking for inspiration (they are not in any specific order of preferance, just what I found randomly that caught my eye):

This is by no means an extensive list. There are so many more beautiful pieces that I just didn't have time to add (my son needs his bath and story before bedtime).

So please go and check out the rest of the EtsyBeadweavers and pick your own favourites from a selection of ever-growing amazing talent!!! but in the meantime check out these, visit their shops and blogs!!! :-) and who knows, if my beading rut continues, then I may post another selection :-) Till the next time... happy beading to those of you who are not in a rut!!! ;-)

  1. Hey Triz - everyone hits ruts, don't worry and don't force it. This is just a time for you to 'fill the well' so to speak. Relax, look at things you love, take a walk, read a book. Your muse will come back, she's just resting.

By the way, the selections you picked from EBW ROCK! :)

  2. I get in a rut with both my beading and my art. I hate the feeling and the longer it goes on the worse I feel. The one thing I do know is it does end - just give it time.

The EBW selections are just great. I feel honored to be in such great company - EBW are such a talented and giving bunch.

  5. Triz - No matter how many times I look at the creations by my fellow Etsy BeadWeavers members, there are always new ones that show up and amaze me!

It's wonderful of you to feature so many of us on your blog, and I really appreciate that you chose one of my cuffs to be included.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your muse comes back to you! Your work is gorgeous, so she's obviously done a good job to this point.

    :-)

  7. Wow, aren't the EBW Team a diverse and talented bunch? I wish we could organize an EBW real-life gallery with all our work together, wouldn't that be fantastic - but anyway three cheers for the Internet for allowing us to do it virtually. And big thanks to you for doing something so unselfish with your 'dry' time. Hope your angel comes back soon!

  11. Beautiful selections, Triz.

Ruts happen, and I've found that the more I fret, the longer it takes me to get moving. Like CD says, it's not a rut, it's a vacation. Your subconscious mind is making use of the slack time, and you'll come back from this rest with lots of inspiration!

  12. Triz - You're my good luck charm!

The bracelet you featured in your blog post sold this evening. Now if Etsy would just let us track how people find us....

Thanks again for the feature. Yay!

  16. I'm a beader too and totally understand all you've said. You are not crazy.
As for the rut, take a break for a while and do other things. Don't allow yourself to bead or even think about it.
You'll be dying to get back at it before long.
    Best wishes

  18. They are beautiful pieces Triz - you should be able to get your beading angel back on track when she takes a look at them!

  19. Triz, you are so kind, as usual, posting other EBW member's work. Thank you for posting my necklace together with beautiful and inspiring works :)
I also have times like this you're having and I hate it, but I then use the time to catch up with all the things I usually postpone due to my beading addiction, so it sort of balancing things for me.. :)
