when things go pear-shaped....

A few days ago I showed a sneak preview of a piece I've been working on.... well... that one was scrapped... and this one is the next version:

sneak preview 02

but wasn't happy with this one either, so I cut it up and decided to keep Lisa Peters' gorgeous cabochon as a pendant... so cut the sides off.... and started enlarging the centrepiece... finished it... and decided that I didn't like it on its own... so started making some side panels for it!!! Ok, so I'm a bit lost... I think it's because I feel so pressurized to do this piece justice and just can't seem to find my way :-)

so here is the latest development:

sneak preview 03

I'm relatively happy with the centrepiece! I think the side bits are going ok :-) but still, am not sure where they are going... am not sure if I'm going to fringe, embellish, etc. ... I just hope that I don't cut it up again!!! so much wasted beading time!!! :-)

They say three times' a charm!!! lets hope so!! :-)

Got to take my little monkey to the doctor, he's developed a rash all over his body and face, I'm guessing it's one of those kiddie diseases... so am going to stop beading for the day... but come back in a few days time to see where this piece takes me... and hopefully it will be somewhere :-) blood and sweat I say :-)

Triz, I'm sorry for your trials and tribulations with this, but I think it's great that your sharing the PROCESS with us :D I have so many Lisa beads that stare at me waiting to be used...they're waiting because I love just looking at them and because I fear that I won't do them justice...so I have some understand :) *hugs* Hope the little one is alright!

  8. Triz, Just do what you know best and what you would have done in any other case - your work is so beautiful, I am sure that combining one of Lisa's gorgeous cabochons in your work would make a magnificent piece! I can't wait to see it finished!

Hope your little boy feels good soon!

  9. Triz, I don't think you could ruin this cab if you tried! I personally have loved every manifestation thus far ;) I know, I'm not very helpful LOL

Your poor little fella, Scarlet Fever doesn't sound like much fun! Hope the itches are gone soon.

  13. Triz - I love what you're doing with Lisa's bead! And I completely agree with the other comment I saw here, that I don't think you could possibly ruin it. Your work is just phenomenal, and it's so much fun to see your process. I've never tried bead embroidery (it's on my list).

I hope Ethan's feeling better! I'm sure you're spoiling him now that he's under the weather.

  16. Well I must agree it is looking good - and it is interesting to see the process. When I am within "the process" and for me that is ripping out I am usually so frustrated I would never think to photo and blog about it - so thanks for sharing. Your work is just so beautiful and it is interesting to see the hard work behind the wonderful pieces - I know some flow effortlessly and other emerge kicking and screaming.

  19. WOW!

Triz your work just leaves me speechless! Thank you so much for showing me the process in which your work comes to life. I know nothing about what my talented customers have to do in order to complete these masterpieces! Seeing the birth of this piece is very inspiring!

AND NO ONE SHOULD WORRY... Lisa will continue to create more stuff for you to fret over! LOL!

Just gorgeous! I have seen the complete piece now, I had to go back and see it from the beginning!

  20. I know this is years after your original post, but it is still an inspiring tale of triumph. I often think I'm the only one that goes through that period of not thinking they've done another artists cabochon/bead/focal justice.

I love all the designs that you created with this focal and I'm really glad you blogged about it. Creativity is so fickle, the end result does not tell the tale of struggle to get there.

    Adore your work
