It's almost 1 am... and I can't bloody sleep!!! as usual!!! :-) this time I got woken up by sounds of thumping and cheering.... yet another Thursday night party going on.... I must be becoming a grumpy old woman.... the noise is driving me nuts... only a few years ago (2 to be exact!) I would have been out partying myself... now it's all so annoying!!! :-) so what is an old grumpy woman to do.... check my e-mails, of course!!!! :-) and I found myself tagged by Make Every Day Your Lucky Day. .. am not quite sure what it actually means... so I'm playing along either out of complete sleep deprivation... or simply because I cannot think of anything better to do at this G-d forsaken hour, with the thumping music and happy people sounds  resounding in the distance... although 20 minutes ago it felt like the party was happening in my bedroom :-)

Purple Graces

 

 

Kindergarten teacher's presents!

Tomorrow is my son's last day at kindergarten and last year at this particular one where he has been going for 3 years!!!! Next year he will be joining the system!!! :-) meaning he will be entering the mandatory state kindergarten... not so sure how I feel about that... but more importantly not so sure how he will feel about it... as he is leaving all his friends (not one of them is going to the same place next year) but I'm sure we will both survive! :-)

I wanted to give something special to these 6 wonderful women who have been looking after my son during the year and some of them have been with him for the whole 3 years.... The care he received there is way above and beyond what is called for in their job description... so I wanted to make them something each... and here is what I've been making for the them in the last few days.... the hardest part was deciding which one gets what... I hope I made wise choices and I hope they'll like my little tokens of affection and gratitude! :-)

Flaming Wall Flower

 

 

 

Finally managed to finish the bracelet I started a few days ago using those gorgeous large Delica beads.... and for some reason I seem to be stuck on making those brick-stitched flowers I've been making lately... but it works so well with this bracelet that I couldn't help myself!!! :-)

 

 

 

 

 

I'm quite happy with how the actual bracelet turned out!!! and it looks so much nicer, more vibrant and luscious in real life... but what I'm really unhappy with is my photography!!! yuck... and these are  the best of over 150 shots I took....  I just found it really hard to photograph the red and purple!!!  If anyone out there knows what I'm doing wrong or has any advice for photographing these 2 colours then please, please, leave me a comment with your suggestions, because I'm at my wits ends... and it's not the first time I had problems with these colours... I tried taking the photo in the flat, outside, in the shade, in more shade... although I must say the darker the shade the better it looked... but am still not very happy with the results... at least the bracelet turned out pretty nice!!! :-)

So unless someone can suggest how I can improve on photographing these 2 colours, I may have to stop beading using this combination, and I have to say, that would be a tragedy as it is one of my favourite colour combinations!!!!

Seeing Red!

I bought these gorgeous red large Delica beads a few months ago from Bogal Ltd., and I really love the colour, so I figured I would just start using them and see where it takes me... this is my effort so far :-)
