Fly me to the Moon

Remember I started to fuse glass in my microwave? Well, here are two more cabochons that I (successfully) made and used within my own beadwork! I’m so proud of myself!!! :-)

The first piece I made into a cuff:

Fly Me to the Moon – OOAK Cuff

The second I made into a necklace to match the cuff:

and whilst I was in a matching mood I made some earrings too! :-)

I rarely make matching pieces, but these HAD to be made. I’m so please with how each one has turned out and love them as a set but also individually!

I got some more glass a while ago, must get my glass fusing kit out and make some more!!!! I really do get so much enjoyment out of beading around cabochons that I made myself from scratch! It just adds to the beading mania!!! :-)

I have actually made another set, well… I’m halfway through making the bracelet, the necklace and earrings are finished, but I wanted to show them all together… so you’ll have to wait till next week…. What I can tell you is, they are purple and GORGEOUS! :-) so stay tuned!

  5. Fused cabs seem to be all the rage at the moment! I love the ones you have created, Triz...and the set you have made with them is beautiful. Using black beads really lets the cabs shine and take centre stage. Love your work! :-)

  8. Thanks, Triz. I checked out the kit. I am very impressed with how quickly you were able to create something so fabulous using a brand new technique. You obviously have embraced your urge to create! Thanks for sharing your "secrets".

  9. I was sent an Australian magazine that had a photo of a kit for the microwave. I know nothing about beads but I thought it was incredible. Your pieces turned out beautifully.

  11. That is the first sensible use of a microwave I have ever heard of, or seen results from! They turned out beautifully, and you did a wonderful job of using them as focals. Aryd'ell
